Notice of Discontinuance

A Notice of Discontinuance, found in Form N279, is a document completed and filed by a claimant to notify the court that they wish to end legal proceedings. The claimant can file the form to withdraw either part or all of their claim, and if it is the former, they must specify which part. 

Once received, the claim is deemed withdrawn. However, the claimant may remain liable for the defendant’s legal costs unless the parties agree otherwise.
