Judicial Review Cost

Judicial Review is a legal process that challenges decisions and the acts and omissions of public bodies to determine whether they’re lawful. It takes place in the Administrative Court, a division (or part) of the High Court.

Your ability to recover costs depends on whether you win or lose and is at the discretion of the court. If you win, you might be able to recover your own costs but there is no certainty that you will. In an unsuccessful case, you’re likely liable for the other side’s too. Costs in this legal area typically run into tens of thousands of pounds. A legal expenses insurance policy is an option, but most will not cover this.
