Joshua Whitcombe

Joshua graduated from Bournemouth University in 2020 with a first-class law degree and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course and LLM in Professional Legal Practice at The University of Law, obtaining a distinction. Joshua has nearly four years’ experience in dispute resolution and litigation, having worked as a paralegal and trainee solicitor prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2024.
Joshua is now a member of the construction team at Helix Law and, having obtained experience working on a wide array of construction claims during his training, is well placed to assist with matters ranging from domestic building disputes through to high-level payment disputes in complex construction projects.

- Secured a Judgment for over £250,000 and an indemnity costs order with 100% costs recovery in enforcement proceedings at the TCC in the High Court.
- Advised a sub-contractor on the effect of onerous clauses in a JCT contract with extensive amendments.
- Supported senior fee earners representing a contractor in a complex multi-adjudication payment dispute, culminating in a seven-figure settlement.
- Advised a homeowner in relation to a claim for ‘stress and inconvenience’ against a contractor that had completed defective works at their property.
- Advised an employer in a termination dispute concerning a bespoke construction contract.
