Don’t ignore it. Once a claim has been issued against you, the clock starts ticking. You typically have 14 days from the date of service to acknowledge the claim (a formal step) or to file a defence. Read the claim form carefully, take note of deadlines, and gather any relevant documents. Seek legal advice from a litigation specialist firm urgently, as missing a deadline could result in a default judgment or further escalation without you even knowing. Even if you’re sure that you have a strong position, it’s worth speaking to a specialist solicitor early to avoid wasting time and money later. Dont assume you can do nothing in the short term and can do something later- that might not be possible.
