N265 Form

Form N265 is the legal document used to give standard disclosure between parties in a dispute. Both complete this form and exchange them at the agreed or ordered date and time. This form requires parties in a dispute to list all the documents relevant to a claim and defence (case, dispute) and in particular to list those which have been located following a search which either help or hinder either party’s case.

The form includes a number of sections that must be completed including a list of documents that both support and do not support a party’s case. Overall this facilitates transparency and enables the court access to examine the evidence in dispute in legal proceedings.

Reasons must also be given for any missing documents, and this is an important (fundamentally important) step in the litigation process helping maintain accountability and completeness in the disclosure process.

You can find the form here.
